The 252 award is designed to help you practice your shooting at different distances and to recognise your achievements.
The award scheme applies to all archers, irrespective of age, ability or bow type.
The 252 refers to the minimum score required when shooting with a recurve bow, although you can shoot with other bow types which carries alternative minimum scores at different distances.
To determine the minimum score you require, please check the table.
There are separate awards for distances of 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 80 or 100 yards.
Rules:
- A maximum of 6 sighters to be followed immediately by 3 dozen scored arrows.
- 5-zone scoring (Gold = 9, Red = 7, Blue = 5, Black = 3, White = 1) using a 122cm target face.
- The 3 dozen arrows may be shot alone or as the first 3 dozen of a longer imperial round.
- Scores for each distance need to be achieved twice to qualify.
- Qualifying scores for a given distance must be shot on different days.
- 2 signed and witnessed score sheets needs to be submitted.
- Badges for each distance will be awarded to successful archers at a cost of £2 each.
- Badges must be claimed in sequence from shorter to longer distances.
