SUMMER (HA HA) NEWSLETTER 2007

Recently……..

we had the 35^th anniversary barbeque at the rugby club. A successful, enjoyable evening thanks to the efforts of all those who contributed and attended.

Harry Atkinson and Margaret Wilkinson were made life members in recognition of their long membership and contribution to the club. Well done both!

New appointments to the committee; Steve Marsden replaces Alisdair Hugo as new members rep, Freya Wise and Alex Marsden have taken over from Anna Swain as Junior rep, Anna having now become a grownup, and Lin Brasenell is now the social organiser and health and safety officer, replacing Brian Mitchell. Welcome to the new people and many thanks for the efforts of the outgoing ones.

Commemorative plaques……..

Some very nice plaques have been made to commemorate the 35^th anniversary. These were put together and finished by Roger, with Kelly making the wooden parts, Brian the laminate pieces and Margaret supplying the poetry. If you’re a junior or senior member and you haven’t had one yet let me know and I’ll get one to you.

Outdoor shooting………

We’ve now come to an arrangement with the rugby club to use the field there as a permanent backup venue for any evening that we can’t use the cricket club. This’ll mean putting the membership price up next year by about £12, but it means that we’ve always got somewhere to go when there’s a cricket match. I’ve done a timetable on a separate sheet so that you can print it off, ‘cos I’m nice like that…..
