Beginner courses

If you wish to join an archery club in the UK that is affiliated to the Grand National Archery Society (GNAS trading name Archery GB) you must have first attended a beginners course. However even if you only want to learn a bit more about archery and see if it is for you our beginners course is a great way to have fun and learn more about the sport.

Archery is a sport that can be enjoyed by people of all backgrounds, ages and fitness levels. Our coaches are trained to deal with most disabilities but please contact us to discuss any specific needs before signing up. For safety reasons, only juniors who are 11 years or over can attend our beginner course and must have a parent or guardian in attendance at all times.

We run a number of beginner courses over the year, indoor during the winter and outdoor during the summer. These sessions typically involve six, two hour sessions, normally on a Monday evening. We are a very sociable and welcoming club and coaches and members will continue to help you to improve, we are also engaged in local competitions and there will be opportunities for you to take part in these friendly events.

Beginners

The cost of the course is £60 for adults and £30 for under 18’s. Adults will receive a £10 discount on the first year of membership to our club, should you decide to join. We supply all the archery equipment you need for the course and we have bows to match all sizes and physical abilities.

If you successfully complete our beginners course you may have the opportunity to join our club, although there is no obligation for you to do this.

After the beginners course you will be able to continue to use club equipment for up to three months while you research the correct equipment to buy for yourself and we can help you work out what you will need.

To request a place on our next beginners course, please download and complete the application form. Courses are only scheduled to run when enough people have sent us their forms and requested a place. When you send us the form we will add you to our list, then when we have enough people we will contact you to discuss dates and times.
